Rescue 15 received 25,744 calls during January

The Islamabad Police helpline, Rescue 15, has received 25,744 calls during January and has provided immediate assistance to people seeking assistance from the police.
Out of these calls, 10,254 calls had been made to request general information, while 1,308 distress calls had been immediately responded to. Around 55 calls had been made to request ambulance service while the police staff on various desks in hospitals including PIMS and Poly Clinic provided immediate help to 923 persons. Around 20 calls had been made to request assistance in traffic problems and the rescue staff had visited 89 crime scenes to collect evidence and provide assistance during investigation.
The Bomb Disposal Squad had checked 1,660 vehicles at various entry points and the Vehicles’ Verification Cell had checked 365 cars as well as 27 motorbikes.
A total of 27,950 vehicles had been verified by Rescue 15’s SMS service and WAPDA staff, fire brigade and the SNGPL had also conveyed complaints for immediate redress. A total of 17 missing children and persons had been reunited with their families and the rescue team’s efforts had been lauded by their families.
IGP Bani Amin Khan said that Rescue 15 has been delivering valuable services for the cause of humanity. He said vehicles had been provided to Rescue 15 for helping citizens and the `respond time’ of this service was only four minutes.
He appreciated the Rescue 15 staff and directed them to maintain quality of service with professional commitment and dedication.
“The way Rescue 15 has been serving citizens is praise worthy,” he maintained.
