Law enforcers pack three into coffins, arrest 16

The police and rangers on Tuesday during separate targeted search operations in different localities of Karachi arrested 16 accused and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.

Per details, rangers conducted targeted search operation in Mawach Goth at Hub River Road during which three criminals were nabbed. Arms and drugs were recovered from possession of criminals wanted by various police stations in several cases of drugs selling, extortion and other crimes. Meanwhile the police during separate raids in Clifton area arrested 13 criminals. The nabbed culprits are being interrogated.

Moreover, a shoot out between the police and kidnappers at Bahawalpur during early hours of Tuesday, left three kidnappers dead.

Per details, the accused had kidnapped three youths from Pakhiwar area of Bahawalpur on December 26, 2012 and had demanded Rs 2 million as ransom for their release. However, after not receiving the ransom at the designated time, the kidnappers killed one of the abducted youth whereas two others were later released after payment of Rs 2 million by the heirs. The heirs of the deceased who lost his life at the hands of his kidnappers had lodged an FIR against the suspected abductors and were receiving threatening calls by abductors to withdraw cases against them. The heirs had refused to take any pressure from the kidnappers and as a result, the kidnappers on Monday night attacked the house of the deceased. Police reached the scene in time and after a shoot out all three attackers identified as Khalil Ahmed, Sajjad and Mustafa were killed on the spot.

Police said that the accused were wanted in various cases of robberies, kidnapping for ransom and other crimes.
