Professor Dr Mukhtar Ahmed has assumed charge of the office of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Executive Director. While addressing a gathering of HEC employees, he said the HCEC would continue playing an active role for the socio-economic development of country. Dr Mukhtar’s had previously been appointed the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation deputy director general in Rabat, Morocco since February 2011. He has a PhD from the University of California, over 25 years of experience in the educational development and management sector and has served as an operations and planning member at the HEC from 2005-2011. His specialises in teaching, policy development and introducing entrepreneurial approaches to education.
