Prolonged delays in schedules of Pakistan Railways continue irking passengers at Peshawar railway station amid chilli weather conditions.

Hundreds of passengers including women, children, elderly people and relatives as well as family members of passengers arriving had to wait for hours in intense cold weather due to long delays in arrival and departure of trains. Karachi-Peshawar Khyber Mail reached the stations of Rawalpindi and Peshawar two hours late than its schedule while Karachi-Peshawar Khushal Khan Express and Awami Express were both five hours late.

Three passengers Habib Khan Mehsud, Liaquat Khan Jadoon and Bilal Ishfaq hailing from Rawalpindi and Islamabad complained that Inquiry officials were not providing information and asked the people to wait when inquired about arrival and departure of trains. The passengers leaving for other cities and relatives waiting for their beloveds to arrive from various cities criticized the Pakistan Railways for its poor performance and failure to normalize operations.

PR officials when contacted said that shortage of engines and weather conditions was the major reasons behind the disruption in operations.
