The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday refused chairman NAB’s plea seeking 14 days for hiring counsel.

The apex court on Thursday issued a show-cause notice for contempt of court to Bokhari over a letter sent by him to President Asif Ali Zardari.

A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the case and granted seven days to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari to defend himself.

The NAB chief was seeking 14 days for the hiring of counsel. The court also refused a request of deputy prosecutor NAB K.K Agha for formulation of a larger bench in the case.

The CJP said the case would now be heard on Feb 12.

  1. Your honour, both, Mr. Fasih Bokhari and Mr. K.K. Agha should have held in contempt, the days they defied and disrespected the court in the premises. That strong message , maybe, could have saved Kamran Faisal. It certainly would have sent a strong message for truth, justice and rule of law…while putting fear of God in all thieves and thugs!
Both are shameless crooks, if they behaved like this in any democracy, their behinds would be behind bars!
