Protest in London against target killing and extortion in Pakistan

Hundreds of Pakistani nationals held a protest demonstration against target killing and extortion, outside residence of Interior Minister Rehman Malik in London.

According to details, hundreds of Pakistani origin people residing in UK expressing concerns over the law and order situation in Pakistan and failure of authorities concerned to overcome the issue gathered outside residence of Rehman Malik and chanted slogans to mend the situation.

Rehman Malik despite warning of UK police visited the protesting people and addressed them.

Speaking on the occasion he said that there was no conflict of Shiite or Sunni in Pakistan but an international conspiracy was being hatched to divide people on the basis of sects and to destabilize the country.

Malik said that sinking the sectarian thinking, linguistic and provincial differences and joint efforts were needed to save the country.

He assured the protestors that people belonging to all the sects and religions would be provided security and endowed with basic rights.
