Jam Yousaf laid to rest in Lasbela

Former Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Mohammad Yousuf, who died of cardiac arrest in Islamabad late Saturday night, was laid to rest at Bara Bagh graveyard in Lasbela on Sunday.

Earlier Jam Yousuf’s dead body was flown to Karachi from Chaklala Airbase via C-130 aircraft from where it was shifted to Lasbela through ambulance.

Hundreds of people including political leadership, provincial and district administration, family members, relatives and people belonging different walks of life attended the funeral prayers.

Jam Yousuf, 59, who belonged to district Lesbela of Balochistan, remained the chief minister of the Balochistan province during the regime of former President Pervez Musharraf. He got elected as member of the National Assembly in 2008. Previously, he also served as minister for water and power.

According to doctors, Yousuf was a patient of high blood pressure and sugar.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and MQM chief Altaf Hussain have condoled the death of Jam Yousuf. Paying rich tributes to the services of the deceased, they prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace and fortitude for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
