Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday appeared in the Supreme Court of Pakistan to file a review petition against his disqualification in the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation case. Gilani filed the plea against his conviction and disqualification by the apex court in the contempt of court case. On April 26, 2012, a seven-member SC bench convicted Gilani in contempt of court proceedings against him for refusing to comply with an order to write a letter to the authorities in Switzerland, asking them to re-open corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.

  1. This is a frivolous lawsuit meant to waste Supreme Court's time. The case has been argued more than once and judgments rendered. The Supreme Court should reject it out of hand and waste no time on it. Just because he was a Prime Minister, who openly committed contempt of court, he does not deserve another chance.

In fact, so many corruption cases are pending against Gilani that he better find some good lawyers, as he is probably going to jail, especially on the illegal appointment of OGRA Chief who allegedly stole billions of rupees in a matter of months.
