NAB chief trying to divert attention from RPp scam

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Information Secretary Shafqat Mahmood has expressed surprise over the contents of a private letter that was sent by Admiral (r) Fasih Bukhari to President Asif Ali Zardari. He described the content of the letter as a direct attack on the Supreme Court (SC). This, he said, went on to explain that the government neither wanted to follow the rules of running the country, nor wished to follow the orders of the courts. “The situation has got to this point that the courts have to ask the government to pass a corruption bill so that the culprits can be nabbed,” he said. Mahmud said that President Zardari had been buying time to complete what he considered five years of democracy and had place the welfare of the people and the country to the backburner. Pakistan, he said was almost broke because of projects such as RPP. “Unless, the culprits are not brought to books, as has been ordered by the SC, Pakistan will not emerge from the state of economic paralysis,” he said, adding that the NAB chief was trying to commit contempt of court so that the attention from RPP was diverted to him.
