The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has struck down an intra-court appeal filed against the rejection of a petition by its single bench in the case of extension in service of the army chief, General Ashfaq Kayani. A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Anwar Khan Kansi and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the case for hearing on Thursday. The petitioner, Colonel (r) Inamur Rahim had earlier challenged the three-year extension in the service granted to the army chief by the president. He had taken the plea that per the Army Act, no jawan could stay in uniform after 60 years of age.
