Three foreign teams to take part in Tent-Pegging Championship

England, India, South Africa and Pakistan will participate in a 4-Nation International Competition to be held from February 8-12 at Faisalabad.
“It is going to be a historic event in Pakistan as in the prevailing situation foreign teams are not visiting Pakistan owing to security concerns and we are delighted that three foreign countries have confirmed their participation in the event,” said Tariq Bucha, President, Indigenous Horse Breeders here on Wednesday at a news conference
He said that it is matter of great pride for Pakistan that the event will be supervised by three international judges from India, South Africa and Pakistan.
“International Tent Pegging federation has obtained membership from 19 countries. This competition has been included in Asian games and international Beach games. Now the federation is working towards tent pegging being part of the Olympic Games,” he asserted.
Pakistan must play its role in the federation, as this game is native to Pakistan and its origins go back hundreds of years in our culture.
The structure of our tour will be that 4 National Teams (from South Africa, England and India) besides 1 South African Women’s Team and 1 Masters Team (over 55 Years) along with the international teams 25 top teams / clubs from Pakistan will also compete in separate Local cultural events.
Following is the programme of the competition, Feb 8-9, 4 International and 2 Local Tent pegging competition will take place at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad grounds, Feb 11-12, 5 International Tent pegging competition, local Horse 5 International Tent pegging competition, local Horse Show & Horse Dancing Competition at the same venue.

(India) ,Sarpartap Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Ujagar Singh ,Malook singh, Narwar Singh Raghuwanshi and Sunil Kumar.
South Africa: Barend Frderick Nel, Norman Jim Mosters, Albert Francois De Viller, Leon Venter (captain) Johannes Petrus Jordaan, Marthinus Petrus De Jager Odendaal, Patrick Vorster, Anton Van Der Schyff, Annas Elias, Christiaan Danial, Dirk Cornelis Pieters Van Niekerk,Villiam James Guest,Anthon Hermanus Jhon Coetzee.
Pakistan: Malik Ata Muhammad Khan, Amir Munawar ,Haroon Bandial, Shahbaz Qamar ,Ch. Rashid, Raja Zarar, Naeem Gajjal,Qamar Zaman,Hussain Abbas Syed, Awais Wasti and Kamran Niazi.
Tariq Bucha said that Pakistani Teams have participated in many international Tent Pegging Competitions in different countries and won Gold Cup and medals were following Gold cup and Medals.1963 and 1969,Malik Atta won gold in Australia and Silver Medal in Canada.1982, Malik Atta won Silver Medal in California USA ,1982,Malik Atta won Gold Medal in England.,2000 Team Event gold in USA,2011, 4 Gold and 3 Silver in South Africa.
