The police Wednesday arrested 30 employees of University of Sindh, Jamshoro, (USJ) and booked 150 others under Anti-Terrorism Act for holding protest and clash with police cops.
According to details, the USJ employees, who were peacefully protesting in support of their demands for the last six weeks, lost their patience on Tuesday when police interrupted them which led to a clash.
During exchange of blows, six persons including SP Headquarter Wasi Haider were injured. Police registered two cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act and arrested 30 protesting employees and booked 150 others. Meanwhile, strike was observed in different universities of Sindh and the academic activities remained suspended on Wednesday.
