Today Radio Pakistan will broadcast a special programme, “Sur Sangeet-Obituary Programme” to pay homage to renowned singer Mehnaz Begum at 10 pm. Versatile artist Shujaat Hashmi would be the host of the programme. Interviews, comments and impressions of various personalities regarding the memorable services of Mehnaz Begum in the field of music would also be broadcasted in the programme. FM-93 network of Radio Pakistan would broadcast this programme. It may be recalled that Radio Pakistan had the honour of introducing the melodious voice of Mehnaz back in 1973. She sang over 2, 500 songs for radio, TV and films and remained popular throughout her since her first song was put on air by Radio Pakistan.
