PPP workers ransack Ministry of Water and Power for jobs!

Dozens of political activists of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday ransacked the Office of Federal Minister for Water and Power alleging him of ignoring them while making recent appointments in ministry and its subsidiary bodies.
PPP activists affiliated with People Youth Organisation (PYO) Rawalpindi Chapter on Tuesday visited Ministry of Water and Power and sought a meeting with the minister, Ch Ahmed Mukhtar, however, according to them, they were not properly treated by minister’s staff.
The protesting ‘Jiylays’ were of the view that for the last three days they were trying to approach the minister, but his staff is not letting them enter the office. On Tuesday, they got furious and ransacked the minister’s office. Talking to Pakistan Today PYO Rawalpindi City Chapter President Haji Imtiaz said that recently the minister and his staff dolled out 175 jobs in Rawalpindi, but they had ignored PPP loyalists. He said that PPP workers wanted to know what criteria Minister Ch Ahmed Mukhtar had adopted while giving more than 175 jobs to the people of Rawalpindi, as all hardcore workers were still jobless.
He said that PPP was the country’s largest democratic party and therefore, its leadership should follow democratic principles while nominating candidates for the next general elections. “We don’t want people like Ahmed Mukhtar who don’t listen to our voice to be our leaders,” Imtiaz added.
Sensing the gravity of the situation, State Minister for Interior Tasneem Qureshi rushed to the Ministry of Water and Power and assured the workers that their issues will be resolved.
