Marquis Baldwin, 22, of Pensacola, Fla., allegedly robbed four businesses between Nov. 20
and Jan. 9 in an attempt to get enough money to pay off his girlfriend’s probation fees, according to the Press-Register. Three of those robberies involved Waffle House restaurants, according to WKRG. Baldwin also allegedly robbed a Kangaroo gas station. Police say surveillance footage ultimately led them to Baldwin, and that after his arrest, he told them he committed the crimes so he could pay for costs related to his girlfriend’s probation. According to PNJ.com, all of the woman’s probation fees were paid off by the time of the final robbery. He has been charged with four counts of armed robbery and six counts of aggravated assault, and is being held on $80,0000 in the Escambia County Jail.
