The alleged target killer, Ajmal Siddiqi known under the alias Ajmal Pahari, who was arrested on charges of several murders and released despite his confessions on camera was arrested again on fresh murder charges, a private TV channel reported.
Karachi police revealed that 12 new cases were registered against Pahari at Joharabad police station.
Pahari went underground after his release on Jan 18 from Karachi Central Jail.
Pahari’s wife had alleged that the Karachi police had handed over her husband to the intelligence agencies instead of setting him free per court orders.
However, the agencies said Pahari was released in the presence of a large number of MQM workers and he must have gone underground following directives from his bosses to avoid his possible arrest in the remaining cases.
