Cross-border trade and bus service between India and Pakistan resumed at Chakandabagh checkpost in Poonch district on Monday. According to the trade custodians on both sides of the border, the tension at the Line of Control (LoC) had now decreased. Accordingly, cross-border trade and travelling had restored from Monday onwards, Radio Pakistan reported. The trade and bus service had been suspended 17 days ago after deadly clashes at the LoC. Directors general of military operations on both sides had talked on telephone and discussed the issue, agreeing to deescalate border tensions between the two countries. Talking to Radio Kashmir, Poonch-Rawalakot bus service provider and trade custodian Lakshmana said they had received a report from cross border hotline and the bus service and trade had been restored. Lakshmana said 217 passengers, including 109 from Indian-held Kashmir and 108 from Jammu and Kashmir had crossed the border.
