During today’s hearing of the Shahzeb Khan murder case, Chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry stated that anyone involved in helping the main accused, Shahrukh Jatoi to escape from the country should be arrested.
Deputy Inspector General Shahid Hayat presented a progress report to the three judge bench of the apex court headed by CJ.
The main accused in the case Shahrukh Jatoi fled abroad on December 27 2012. His father, Sikander Jatoi maintained that his son was in need of first aid and had hence flown to receive it from an international hospital.
Hayat told the court that Jatoi had apparently bribed a porter at the airport to flee the country.
Hayat then stated that no proof of injuries had been found on Jatoi’s person and medical records would be required if he had indeed received nay treatment whilst aborad.
Hayat also stated that Shahrukh Jatoi had travelled abroad on an emergency passport. CJ then added that the First Information Report (FIR) stated that Jatoi had boarded the aircraft using someone else’s boarding pass.
Shahrukh Jatoi has been declared a minor in the case after a full medical exam and has been sent to juvenile prison. CJ added that in certain cases parties attempt to do this inorder to avoid capital punishment. In his rebuttal to this statement, the prosecuter SIndh stated that the date on Shahrukh’s passport was November 27, 1995.
The CJ then added that a minor could not have fled the country on his own and demanded that the people responsible for his escape from the country be also brought to the court.

  1. I can't understand why the highest court of the land de-grade itself by indulging in case falling in the jurisdiction of a session court. And that too befoe the bench, comprising 3 senior judges.

  2. Oh so a lowly porter has that much power?? Right!!!

Well here is one of those who actually helped him escape:
"His father, Sikander Jatoi maintained that his son was in need of first aid and had hence flown to receive it from an international hospital"

  3. What was the problem he needed first aid, we have Agha Khan Hospital what prevented him not to go to this hospital. His fleeing from Pakistan is a slap on the face of interior ministry.Rahman Malik should have resigned on this issue instead of making statements to confuse the issue

  4. The porter out-witted the FIA, Police and GOD knows what state authority to get Jatoi out of the Fatherland. GOD save us all if the enemy wants to attack
