Addressing a joint meeting of MQM’s central executive and zonal committees in Lahore and the rabitta committee on telephone, Altaf Hussain said MQM would continue its struggle for the formation of southern province in Punjab. The MQM chief also called on the committees to restructure the party according to values of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, Altaf Hussain demanded President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to redress the deprivations and injustices to the people by fulfilling the demand of new province.

  1. "Bahawalpur-Janoobi Punjab" is a ridiculous name of a new province. The "Divisions" are being tried to add in this so called Province are again ridiculous.

We the residents of Bahawalpur Division will never accept such a ridiculous Province. We need the revival of our Ex – Bahawalpur state as our own Province.

We do not accept Lahore or Multan or any other center or part of this Province.

Lahore is continuously eating our budget since last 33 years since this group of N-league is in power. They consider us perhaps the part of India. Same may be repeated by Multan as well.

So Bahawalpur is essential seperate Province.

We will highly and extremely request MQM leaders especially Altaf Bhaii to support Bahawalpur Province as a separate Province consisting on .Ex-Bahawalpur state.

    Thanks and Regards.
