The Al-Khidmat Karachi chapter extended healthcare service to more than 41,13,000 people during the last six months.
This was told during an half-yearly review meeting of Al-Khidmat Welfare Society Karachi in a detailed briefing. The hospitals and dispensaries of Al-Khidmat Karachi chapter gave medical services to 4.1 million people. Al-Khidmat Shah Faisal Colony Hospital attended 32,778 patients; Malir-Khokhrapar Hospital attended 37,685 patients, Korangi Hospital 54,496 patients, Al-Huda Medical Center 47,957 patients, Nazimabad Hospital 24,525 patients, and Sakhi Hassan Medical Center attended 15,643 patients. Al-Khidmat Pharmacy provided medicines to 2,680,929 people at 15 percent discount, while Al-Khidmat Diagnostic Center catered services to 50,974 people. As many as 11,86,385 patients were served at the clinics of Al-Khidmat primary health service, while 14,518 people visited Al-Khidmat Homeopathy Clinic.
During these six months, while Al-Khidmat Karachi burial bus service was used by 3,240 bereaved families. Some 51 students completed Hifz-e-Quran from seminaries run by Al-Khidmat, while clusters of Orphan Care Program established in Lyari and Dalimia Colony with registration of 455 orphaned children.
Al-Khidmat Karachi president Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, who is also amir of Jammat-e-Islami Karachi, appreciated these services; however, he instructed to further extend their scope.
The meeting also discussed plans to improve medical care services and expand and upgrade their hospitals.
