Two more people have been killed since Saturday-Sunday night in separate areas of the metropolis taking the death toll to 11 persons during the last 18 hours.
Police said that Kamran, 30, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Bilal Colony. In another incident of firing, an unidentified man was gunned down in Sharafi Goth, Landhi. Earlier, nine people including a prayers leader were killed in the spiral of ongoing violence during last night. According to police sources, tension prevailed at Abul Isphani Road area after the killing of a prayers leader on Saturday night. He was identified as Imam Qadri Ashfaq. After his killing, some miscreants started aerial firing and forcing all markets and shops closed down in the area. Earlier in Orangi Town, Maulana Saleemullah was injured while his colleague was shot dead in unidentified gunmen’s firing. Firing incidents also occurred in New Golimar, Mauripur Road Machhar Colony, Jehangir Road and Orangi Town sector 11 where innocent people were gunned down. On the other hand, Rangers arrested ten suspected persons in a search operation in Chanesar Goth area of the city.
