13 criminals arrested, 635 bottles of wine recovered

The Islamabad Police on Sunday arrested 13 criminals and recovered 635 bottles of wine, two kilogrammes of heroin, mobile phones, a car, four pistols, ammunition and other stolen items from their possession. According to a spokesman of Islamabad Police, on the directives of Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan and Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yasin Farooq had assigned Station House Officers (SHOs) to arrest persons involved in different criminal activities in the city. In compliance with the instructions, police initiated action against unlawful activities and arrested 13 criminals. Nelor Police Station SHO Inspector Asjid Altaf and Inspector Muhammad Shafiq arrested accused Muhammad and recovered 600 bottles of wine from his possession. Shahzad Town Police Station Inspector Muhammad, on tip off, arrested Samad Khan and recovered around one kilogramme of hashish. The Tarnol Police Station’s Muhammad Idrees arrested Muhammad Zameer and recovered around one kilogramme of hashish and 45 grams of heroin from possession. Sabzi Mandi Police Station’s Inpector Javed during a search operation arrested Muhammad Idrees and recovered 250 grams of hashish from him. Meanwhile, ASI Sayeed Akhtar during a search operation arrested an accused named Adnan Ahmed and recovered a 30 bore pistol and four rounds of ammunition from his possession. In addition, Ramna Police Station’s ASI Sagheer Ahmed recovered a stolen Suzuki Khyber car, numbered LJ-6515. The car was found to be tampered after undergoing laboratory tests. Later, the Islamabad SSP directed the SHOs to maintain strict security of entrance and exit points of the city and ordered them to remain extra vigilant in order to arrests criminals.
