Rain and snow forecast for northern areas

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday forecast cold and dry weather for most parts of the country with chances of light rain and snowfall in northern areas.
Part cloudy weather is expected in northern areas of the country. Possible rain and snowfall in the next 24 hours has been forecast for some areas in Kashmir.
Cold dry weather is expected for most parts of Punjab and Islamabad during next the 24 hours. Shallow foggy conditions are likely to prevail over plain areas in Punjab in the morning.
The weather will remain cold and dry in KP, Sindh and Balochistan.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were: Skardu -14 C, Astore -13 C, Parachinar -10 C, Hunza -08 C, Gupis -07 C, Kalat -05 C, Drosh, Bunji -04 C, Gilgit -03 C, Chitral and Quetta -02 C, Dir, Rawalakot -01 C. Snowfall recorded during the last 24 hours in Kalam was 1 inch, and traces of snow were found in Astore.
