Sindh Minister for Health Dr Saghir Ahmed has condemned the killing of Dr Hasan Alam, a senior psychiatrist and medical superintendent of Sindh Government Hospital, North Karachi.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the minister said that the death of Dr Hasan was a great loss for the citizens of Karachi as he was widely recognised for his commitment to the cause of service to humanity.
“There can be no replacement for any human being, but since we are already faced with acute shortage of psychiatrists, the patients of Hasan Alam are therefore among the worst affected,” the minister said. Dr Saghir also appreciated administrative skills of the assassinated doctor who through his selfless efforts managed to turn the Government Hospital North Karachi in to one of the best medical centres in the metropolis. The minister prayed to Allah Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and bring solace to the bereaved family.
