Twin bombing in Karachi, four killed

Two bombings in the Landhi area of Karachi have killed four people — two police officials, a private security guard and a passerby, and injured 9 others besides damaging three ambulances and a police mobile.

According to initial reports, the first blast took place in Sherpao Colony in a garbage dump. Police sources said that the bomb was planted in a ghee tin. As soon as the police arrived at the scene, a second bomb exploded, killing DSP Kamal Khan Mangan, Sub-Inspector Akbar Hussain, a private security guard and a citizen. The identities of the latter two are not known yet. Police sources say that the second bomb was fixed to a cement block and contained ball bearings to inflict maximum damage.
