The Supreme Court on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the report submitted by the Secretary FATA during a hearing over the Adiala missing persons case.
According to a private television channel, a three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the case pertaining to the missing prisoners.
During thearing, Attorney General said that evidence against the prisoners have been collected and their trial will be completed within a month.
He also said that the detainees would be tried under the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR).
Chief Justice asked the attorney general as to how the case would be tried under the FCR. Justice Iftikhar then questioned him over the basis upon which the prisoners were detained.
Moreover, Chief Justice asked that if the evidences were available against the detainees then why their trials were not completed.
Attorney general replied that the prisoners were held from areas under the state of war and hence they would be tried under the FCR
Chief justice giving his remarks said that the prisoners should be released on their own as there would be implications in case the court issued orders.
Attorney General requested the court for the time to find a way out for the prisoners.
At the request of attorney general the hearing has been adjourned till 28 January 2013.
