Capital City Police on Wednesday was put on high alert for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) cavalcades to ensure security across the city. Capital City Police Officer Additional IG Nasimuz Zaman said that he had directed DIG, SSP, all additional SPs, SDPOs of operation wing and SHOs to ensure checking of all vehicles along the routes of Eid-e-Milad processions to avoid any untoward incident.
He said that they had further been directed to take strict action against miscreants and law breakers. He said the chief minister had accorded highest priority to maintain sectarian harmony across the province. He said that all police officers had also been directed to implement the government instructions in letter and spirit to maintain law and order besides intensifying round-the-clock patrolling on wireless fitted vehicles. Special police force would also be deployed at several identified sensitive locations, he said. The CCPO added that special contingents of police and armed commandoes would be deployed in all areas. Mobile teams had started round-the-clock patrolling under the supervision of concerned additional SP and sub-divisional police officers, he added.
