The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started a plantation drive in which saplings would be planted in all green belts and recreational places. Over 2,000 CDA environment directorate staff members have been assigned to take part in the drive. CDA Environment Director Khalid Malik said flower saplings will be planted in all parks, recreational places and green belts in the city, to give Islamabad a green and beautiful visage. “We are striving hard to make Islamabad green and beautiful, and there will flowers everywhere in a few days now,” he added. He said the civic body was focusing on planting different kinds of flowers in green belts, parks and recreational places. “The growth of these saplings will be monitored to ensure their survival,” he said.
