The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has asked President Asif Ali Zardari to use his special powers to grant amnesty to Mumtaz Qadri, the self-confessed murderer of former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer.
Qadri had confessed to killing Salmaan Taseer in the ATC court which subsequently found him guilty and pronounced the death penalty for killing Taseer and breaching his oath as a policeman. His defence counsel had filed an appeal against the sentence in the Islamabad High Court. “[JI] urges the President to announce amnesty for Qadri like many other cases especially under the NRO,” said a resolution adopted by JI Shura. “The government should withdraw the case against him for murdering Taseer in the public interest.”
The JI referred to the thousands of cases against criminals and politicians which had been withdrawn under the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) whereas Qadri was not given any such concession; The JI leadership observed in a meeting adopted numerous clauses on hot issues. “Qadri gunned down Taseer for criticising the Blasphemy law in line with the sentiments of the masses.”
Ji leadership should be ashmaed of themselves. This Qadri must be hanged in public. He committed murder in broad day light and seemed to be proud of himself. Law must be respected by all. Even God does not allow anybody to take some one,s life. There should be no optiion for this murderer and must to hanged. Before hanging him a very thick Sarya should be shoved up this a**S**S.

If that can not be implemented, the next option could be solitary confinement for next one hundred year or till he dies which ever comes first.
Crime is a crime .It should not be mixed up with religion. If you do not prosecute this case ,tomorrow , there will be another Qadri to do the same or worse. You do not want history to repeat itself.
It is obvious that the JI is the real enemy within Pakistan…they are supporters of extremism including the TTP and supply suicide jihadis to the Taliban from their Madrassas…their leadership (Munir) has a twisted view of Islam and should be eliminated so,that true peaceful Islam can be represented instead of supporting murderers or the useless blasphemy laws that make Pakistan look stupid in the eyes of the world…

so JI is still on its stance that on the name of securing Islam and Prophet kill any body any time and there should be no punishment for them.
Why these JI men didnt put blasphemy law on Tahir qadri who throughout his long march made remarks as he was leading the rally of HussianAS against present Yazeedi group.Does his all depiction/ descriptions linked to karabla not come in circle of blasphemy and how he ended his jihad is itself mocking the legendary religious event of Islam
A diabolic stance by JI; if the family wishes to forgive this man that is different matter. His death sentence may be converted to life imprisonment.
Jamat-e-Islami has gone through a metamorphosis after the death of Moulana Moudodi. Now it has nothing to do with Islam and every thing with the politics. The moto of JI is that " do in Rome as Romans do." In Pakistan famous and powerful can get away with any crime. Qadri the killer became very famous after killing the governor Salman Tasir. It is the pressure from politicians and the establishment that makes the judicial system ineffective.
This is not a normal murder. It is a case of a guard killing whom he was employed to protect. Therefore, if the teachings of Islam are to be honoured then hang him not upright but upside down please,. As far as Jamaat Islami is concerned it can go to hell if it does not understand this simple thing.

JI are the ones responsible for terrorism in Pakistan. They need to be banned and locked up with immediate effect to prevent innocent people being killed for no reason.
Its about time the people of Pakistan realize this and stop voting and attending their public gatherings. But sorry to say only illiterate people are seen attending their public gatherings.
Therefore education should be made public for the people of Pakistan so that the Mullahs cannot make fools of the illiterate in Pakistan anymore.
Ashamed to see previous comments…Qadri done a Gr8 thing coz Salman said that Islamic laws are black laws,nd the christian whom he was defending has abused Prophet(S.A.W)which results in death penalty! Ain’t u guys Muslims?
