Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Tuesday said that Pakistan will take up the issue of drone attacks with US.
Speaking on the floor of the House‚ Khar said that Pakistan considers drone strikes on the Tribal Areas as violation of its sovereignty.
She said, “We have repeatedly raised our concerns on the drone strikes which are proving counter-productive in the war against terrorism”.
She noted that an opinion considering drone attacks counter-productive is emerging in the entire world including the US with the world raising concerns on the civilian casualties in the drone strikes.
About reports that Washington has prepared a new drone policy‚ the FM said, “we have no clarification from the US in this regard. These are just media reports but we take up this issue with Washington and its ambassador to Pakistan.”
