MET Director Muhammad Hanif has said the weather will remain cold and dry in all parts of the country during the next 48 hours, while the intensity of fog will decrease in Punjab, especially Lahore and its adjacent areas.
Talking to PTV on Sunday, Hanif said, upper Punjab including Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Lahore will remain slightly foggy for 6-7 days due to a lack of rain.
He said the weather would remain dry, but dense fog might prevail at night in the plains of Punjab.
He said that light rain is expected in the northern areas and Gilgit-Baltistan, but heavy rain fall will occur at the start of February in upper areas of the country, including Islamabad.
He said the upcoming rain spell, which would start towards the beginning of February, will be very useful for wheat crops, but no rain is expected during the next week.
He said since no more rain is expected for the next two days, the fog will expand to upper areas of Sindh and Sukkur.
