The Allama Iqbal International Airport has halted all flights due to the severe foggy conditions in the province, and resume operations once visibility improves, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.
“The airport will not see any take-offs or landings until conditions for flying improve”, authorities said.
Many national and international flights to and from Lahore have been diverted to other cities, while many others have been cancelled.
The Motorway Police has also suspended traffic on (M2) Lahore-Islamabad section, as the fog has brought visibility down to zero.
The Sheikhupura-Lahore-Pindi-Bhattian-Faisalabad part of motorway has also been closed for traffic until further notice.
The police have advised motorists to switch on fog-lights while driving, travel in convoys or avoid travelling if possible.
