23 police officials suspended for supporting criminals

Rawalpindi Chief Police Officer DIG Azhar Hameed Khokhar on Sunday suspended 23 police officials of Ratta Amral police station for supporting criminals, and ordered an inquiry against them.
According to sources, Ratta Amral SHO Inspector Azhar Shah informed the CPO that seven officers and 16 constables were in contact with drug-peddlers, gamblers and other criminals of the area and were allegedly backing anti-social activities.
Taking strict action on the complaint, the CPO ordered suspension of the officials and ordered a departmental inquiry against them.
The CPO appointed Rawal SP as the inquiry officer.
It is pertinent to mention here that the total number of personnel in the police station is 70, out of which 23 had been suspended.
