Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hasan on Friday said that Tahirul Qadri’s long march drama had ended on a tragic note as none of his demands had been met.
Commenting on the Islamabad Long March Declaration, an agreement signed between the government and Dr Tahirul Qadri, the JI chief said that it was ironic that Qadri had celebrated the arrest orders for the prime minister and had accepted his fate signed by the same premier. He further said that Qadri had embraced the same ministers and government officials whom he had claimed to bring down merely two days ago.
He also mocked government officials for embracing Qadri even though they had been mocking him during their press conferences.
Munawar Hasan said that Tahirul Qadri had played with the sentiments of thousands of people and made fools out of them. He finally had talked to the government team on the same terms upon which the government was ready to talk to him before his long march and accepted the government conditions he had rejected before.
The JI leader said that the demand for the dissolution of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that had been set up with the consensus of all the political parties and for the removal of the chief election commissioner was not only unconstitutional but also highly non-serious.

  1. You stupid. He has travelled 65 years of journey in 5 days and has raised awareness. The enlightenment that he provided to Millions will have far reaching effects on democracy. By the way I did not hear any comment from you in asking the govt. to stop any harsh measures on fellow citizens. You Hippocrates

    • amir malik. you are mistaken. Tahirul Qadri is now part of the government… but the truth is, he always was. and now it is official. TQ wants money and fame not change

      • would it have been better for Qadri to continue the sit-in and put the lives of innocent people at the mercy of harsh weather indefinitely or have ended the protest in bloodbath? Some people would blame Qadri no matter what the outcome would have been.

        • read the agreement first iam also one of them who spend 5 days with him ,,but now iam disappointed with all what he done with us ……

  2. Dear Pakisthanis,
Do't perturbed by this talks. Indefinite suffering of people is not advisable for any leader or he do't like. Some awareness is created. It is the duty of people to cary forward. You need great patience. If you want immediate solution by precipitating the situation, then you are presented with military rule as a quick solution for which your Jackals are egerly awaiting for the opportunity. It is common in any democratic system- struggle-rest-struggle-rest—.
