Islamabad International Islamic University (IIUI) President Dr Al-Draiweesh on Friday urged media representatives to present the real picture of Islam to the world and resolve any misunderstandings in this regard.
He said this while briefing media representatives regarding the upcoming Seerat-e-Tayyaba (PBUH) celebrations of the Da’wah Academy.
Al-Draiweesh said media representatives must build links with those scholars who presented Islam as a balanced and moderate religion and were against extremism and terrorism.
He also invited media representatives to visit the IIUI and inform the public about the educational system and other activities of the university. The IIUI has been providing quality education to people at the domestic and international levels, to enable them to play a progressive role for the society and Muslim Ummah at large, he said.
Al-Draiweesh appreciated the Da’wah Academy on gathering representatives of various schools of thought. He said these scholars can bring society out of its chaotic and violent state.
Da’wah Academy Director General Dr Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman said the academy is a platform for scholars of different orientations to receive Islamic education. He said the IIUI is the third largest university in the country, where students from more than 60 countries are currently enrolled.
