A preliminary report over the death of Kamran Faisal, an officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigating the rental power projects (RPP) case, was submitted in the Islamabad Secretariat Police Station on Saturday.

The police had declared Faisal’s death as accidental and a First Information Report (FIR) was also registered. The report has been recorded under criminal act 174.

A special investigation team of the police has left for Mian Channu, ancestral village of deceased Kamran Faisal to record statements of his family members and relatives.

Police have however not succeeded in making contact with Sajid Ali, who was living in the room close to the room of deceased NAB officer.

Separately, some of Faisal’s relatives have alleged that his body bore marks of torture. His uncle has said that Faisal’s back, arms and wrists showed torture marks.
Faisal, 35, who was investigating the RPP scam along with another officer Asghar Khan, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his official residence at Federal Lodges.

Faisal was reportedly investigating the scam under ‘pressure’ and had recently requested the Supreme Court to exclude him from the case.

The post mortem report however earlier on Saturday has revealed that the death was due to suicide.

A panel of doctors unanimously concluded that the death was in fact a suicide since the body has no marks of torture or any indication that another party caused the death.

In a recent television interview though Faisal’s father insisted his son had nerves of steel and could not have committed suicide.

He demanded justice and urged the Supreme Court to take immediate action against the death of his son.

  1. FIR, investigations, special teams of investigating agencies, condemnation of politicians will never bring FAISAL KAMRAN bak…………again bohat bara zulm hua, sun hey k 1 zamana aesa tha jis me agar koi zulm ya zayadati hoti the to tofaan atey they, kali gata chha jati the rains, floods, alot of such signs……log ALLAH ki mangtey the, toba kartey the….today the level of desensitization has increased…. ya ALLAH hme maf kar dey, faisal kamran k parents ka dukh hum nai samj saktey…..

  2. The police, FIA and IB are all under the control of the Government, they will try to cover up the whole thing and bury the investigation.

It calls for some bright investigative journalists to uncover the truth and find out how he died and who killed him, if it was indeed a murder, which it is e ginning to look like more and more.

  3. I am confident & sure…SC will call for investigation as he was a prime investigator in RPPs case….all those involved will surely be answerable to Allah swt soon….if they think they have NOC…they are living in fools paradise. They will be answerable here in this world & on the day of judgement. This gentleman`s soul will haunt those involved for the rest of their lives in this world & we will surely find some of them roaming around Islamabad in tatters……because of the zulm & pressure put on this poor man that his family has become mazlum & their " Ah…" will never go in vain…in sha Allah.
