Recent rain showers have added a chill to the weather and most students had been reluctant to brave the rain, leading to thin attendance in schools on Friday.
Educational institutions had resumed activity on Thursday after a three-day long holiday announced to protect students from any untoward incident during the long march.
Roads that had been blocked earlier had been reopened, but many parents were still not sending their children to schools due to the cold weather conditions.
Tahir, a lecturer at a local college said, “It is good that the long march has ended in an amicable settlement of issues, and students can now resume their studies with peaceful minds.” If the march had gone on for longer, the students’ final exams would have been adversely affected, he added.
