Rain, snowfall likely at various hilly areas

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday forecasted rain with snowfall in hilly areas, scattered throughout Punjab including Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.
According to the synoptic situation, a fresh western disturbance is affecting upper parts of the country and is likely to persist during the next 24 hours.
Rain with snowfall over hills is expected at scattered places of upper Punjab and isolated places in southern areas during the next 24 hours.
Rain with snowfall in mountainous regions of upper KP is also expected at scattered places during the same time period.
Mainly cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in most parts of Sindh, however light rain is likely at one or two places of Sukkur and Larkana divisions during the next 24 hours.
In Balochistan, cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts, however, light rain and snowfall over mountains is likely at isolated places of Northeast Balochistan during the next 24 hours.
Rain and snowfall is also expected at some places of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next one day.
The lowest temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Parachinar at -9°c, Skardu -8°c, Quetta -7°c, Astore -6°c, Gupis -5°c, Hunza -4°c, Drosh and Malamjabba -3°c, Chitral, Gilgit and Bunji -2°c.
Rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was 19mm at Malamjabba, Pattan and Rawalakot 9mm, Kotli 7mm, Saidusharif 5mm, Drosh 3mm, Garidupatta and Mirkhani 2mm, Chitral, Mangla, Muzaffarabad and Jaccobabad 1 mm.
