National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Assistant Director Kamran Faisal was found dead at his residence on Friday.

The NAB officer was an integral part of the investigation related to the Rental Power Project scam in which the current Prime Minister (PM) is incriminated.

He was living in the Federal Lodges and allegedly committed suicide due to extreme pressure and depression.

IG Islamabad Bani Yameen said that the body of the deceased was found hanging from a fan. Apparently it looks like a suicide but nothing can be said for certain until after the postmortem. The dead body has been shifted to PIMS for postmortem.

Meanwhile Chairman NAB Fasiullah Bokhari also visited the site of the incident and expressed his grief over the death of the investigating officer.

It may be mentioned that Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had ordered that all those accused of graft in power generation projects be arrested and for the chairman of the NAB to report to the court.

Supreme Court on Thursday had expressed its anger over NAB inability to arrest all accused in the RPP case and had dismissed NAB’s report as unsatisfactory and ordered NAB to report back with the case files on Jan 23 so that the court could itself point out evidence that could form the basis of a prosecution.

  3. That is a very sad sad incident. It must not stop with just saying "Inna Lillah Hay Wa Inna Alayhay Rajayoon" but must proceed further. Governments put honest officers under a lot of pressure to get the results suiting their needs.

  4. In a country where public bodies are not as strong, government complacent as well as corrupt, Supreme Court of Pakistan must appoint an inquiry commission in to his.

  5. Extreme pressure is not leading to suicide if one is alone sone of parents with three child and one widow responsible person. May Allah Place him in Jannah.

  6. Times have gone when people were saying " honesty is the best policy". Now if someone shows honesty, our criminal politicians will kill him to achieve their goals and they will make us fool by saying "Pakistan First". Very Sad, May Allah shower his blessings on the poor guy.

  7. Typical scenario of criminal environment and a callous society.Poor man is a victim of both.Court should not depend on the incompetent NAB but act to save other honest individuals. It is filth from top to top.

  8. Kamran , May Allah accept your sacrifice, & enter you in Jannah. This is your uncle. I had given you the advice never to accept any bribe . I hope you remembered my words. I saw you happy , when I visited Pakistan a few months ago. I hope we meet in Jannah. Did you know your father is devastated, and your 2 children have not stopped crying, since they heard the news. I know in my heart that, you did not commit suicide.

  9. Im so sorry & ashamed of not being able to do anything. We have the corrupt & murderers ruling over us & we let one of our own, one on our side die. This was no suicide, this was a murder & Zardari & Raja Rental will forever burn for this.

May Allah give you peace in the hereafter & give Zardari & co the justice we cannot put to words. Justice will be served.

  10. "Phir bhi Bhutto zinda hey!! Even if 100 officers ll hand themselves, they can never be equal to the the hanging of our beloved prophet Bhutto!!" from "Diary of a Jiala"

  11. yar agar itna hi pressure tha to resign kar deta, Y suicide ??? this is most probabbly a planned death, not suicide. These politetions can go to any limit to save their seat. Damm all of them. Inna Lillah Hay Wa Inna Alayhay Rajayoon.
