At least five people including a woman died after a three-story building collapsed burying seven family members under debris in Tibbi locality of Lahore on Friday morning, sources said.
Rescue workers rushed to the scene of this tragic incident to provide immediate help.
Two critically injured dwellers were rescued from the wreckage alive and shifted to the hospital, rescue sources said.
In the dire need of repair, the building could no longer sustain its own weight, said the rescue sources.
“In such a dilapidated lodging, which can abruptly end in tragedy, no living being should have been residing. This and all the other buildings posing threat to life must be rebuilt before they give way”, they added.
