Participants of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran long march have set a new record in commitment and dedication by braving harsh weather, unforeseen terrorism threats, uncertainty, fear of baton-charge, attack of diseases and many other problems.
Even the heavy downpour and falling mercury on the fifth day could not deter the participants who remained committed to their cause.
This is the first time in the country’s history that over 50,000 people participated in a peaceful sit-in for five days.
Well organised, highly motivated, and educated youth who were in majority, actively performed their duties and also kept the spirit of others high by singing national songs, chanting slogans, and praising every word and instruction of their leader.
“We are here for change. We are struggling for a better future. We are fighting the case of the entire nation. Let me make it clear: without bringing reforms in electoral process, we cannot stop the destruction of this country. Once we have honest leadership in the parliament then our country will make progress,” said Arshad Hussain, a student of M.Sc.
Wearing baseball caps and holding sticks in their hands, girls also performed security duties. Even in nights they remained alert around the bulletproof truck of their leader. Particularly, after the report and purported abduction attempt on Dr Qadri on Tuesday night the girls had beefed up security around the their leader truck.
