City life crawls towards normalcy

As the Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran ‘Long March’ is entering its last hours the miseries of the crowd numbered in millions has been multiplied, above 200 participants are facing healthcare issues, where as the offices close to the D-Chowk remained shut. Due to large crowd, road blockages and fearing any unpleasant situation the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completely failed in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation arrangements for millions at D-Chowk, whereas on the other hand the volunteers in the Long March were least concerned about the garbage.
On the other hand because of rain the soil in green belt and the surrounding areas have turned into mud heaps creating issues for the participants. As the number of the crowd is in millions so the small garbage items including cigarettes butts, plastic shopping bags, eatables, torn posters and papers, pieces of ropes and other are visibly spread on the green belts. Another major issue being faced by the participants of the march was lack of the toilets, especially for females. The police and law enforcement agencies personals were also suffering from the severe cold and rain issues, as they were unable to relax from last two days because of the indications for any advance from the crowd. Over 200 long-march participants had fallen sick unable to bear the strong weather conditions and have reached the Government Polyclinic (FGPC) to receive the initial medical treatments. The life in the other parts of the city has returned to normalcy again and the miseries of the locals have reduced, as the Long March participants are now sitting at D-Chowk however the residents in the nearby localities are still facing the same issues.
