The balloting of applications for Khawja Moinuddin Chishti’s Urs at Ajmair Sharif, India will be held in the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Friday.
The decision to hold the balloting on January 18 instead of January 30, had been taken in view of a recent agreement between the two governments regarding a visa policy, a ministry spokesman said on Wednesday. The Indian High Commission will now accept passports 45 days before the Zaireen depart for Urs, he added.
The ministry had to revise its schedule in lieu of this development and decided to hold the balloting early as well, he said.
