Security plummets across Sindh after SC’s ruling

Tensions prevailed in several cities of Sindh on the second consecutive day as the workers of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) took to the streets and forced traders to shut down commercial activities in protest against the Supreme Court’s (SC) directive of arresting Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in the rental power scam.
Armed men riding motorcycles resorted to intense aerial gunfire in various cities of interior Sindh, including Larkana, Nawabshah, Sukkur Kahirpur, Dadu, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Jamshoro. Protestors also burnt tyres and blocked the national highway. Meanwhile PPP supporters also staged sit-in demonstrations at Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Sanghar, Thatta and other parts of the province. Earlier, security around Bilawal House in Karachi was tightened after violence engulfed the city.
