Security in front of Parliament House has been intensified by placing more containers at D-Chowk where Tehreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran has organised a sit-in.
According to media reports, a number of protesters, also including women, have canes and lathis in their hands to deal with any unfavourable situation. They have also been guarding the area in the nighttime.
Officials are of the view that soil has also been spread past the containers in order to stop the demonstrators to remove the obstacles and proceed further. In addition, fresh contingents of security personnel have also been deployed here.
Meanwhile, head of Tehreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that he is capable enough to defend himself. No one has got the courage to enter his container and hurt him, he added.
