The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Wednesday lauded the Supreme Court for issuing arrest orders of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and his aides for corruption in the infamous rental power scam.
PEW President Dr Murtaza Mughal said that “the Intervention of the Apex court was celebrated by masses across the country which amounts to no confidence on the incompetent government”. The unexpected order came amidst the ongoing long march in which the countrymen are protesting against mismanagement of the political parties. Mughal said that the “government has lost all right to rule due to massive corruption and engineered energy crisis to plunder the country’s wealth resulting in increased terrorism, heightened poverty, and a collapsing economy”. He added that a probe into the workings of “Canadian energy don” in Pakistan would reveal unimaginable corruption. He said that Dr Asim Hussain should be placed on ECl for engineering and artificial gas crisis and earning billions as kick backs from un needed energy reports. Mughal concluded “the incumbent government is part of the problem, they not trying to save democracy as claimed to deceive masses; they are trying to hide their corruption. Independent, daring and patriot judiciary is last ray of hope for the masses whose lives were intentionally made miserable”.
