Khyber tribesmen protest outside KPK governor house

Tribesmen from Khyber agency staged a sit-in protest on Wednesday in front of the Peshawar Governor house carrying coffins of 15 tribesmen found dead in the tribal region’s Bara tehsil.

Per details, 500 tribesmen marched from Bara to Peshawar carrying the bodies of the deceased in pick-ups. The protestors accused the security forces of the killings and demanded justice from the Governor. However, security forces claimed that the militant group Lashkar-i-Islam, led by Mangal Bagh, was behind the murders.
Peshawar’s Railway Road was blocked for traffic due to the protest. Traffic on Sunheri Mashid and Peshawar Cantt roads was also suspended and security forces sealed the entire cantonment area to stop protestors from breaching the ‘red security zone’. Protestors carried placards and banners demanding an end to the ongoing military operations.
