APAT urges PM to resign

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran (APAT) on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to resign from his post after the Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict in the rental power case.
APAT Central General Secretary Naeem Mir appreciated the SC’s judgment in the case and said that APAT had called a meeting of trade representatives from across the country on January 22 to discuss the prevailing political scenario and its impact on business activity in the country.
He said that the meeting would also discuss the setting up of chambers of small traders following the approval of cabinet.
Moreover, he said that the political uncertainty had badly affected the financial market in the country, which crashed by over a record of 500 points, while trade activity in and around the twin cities were halted.
He suggested the government to immediately announce the interim government setup after consultations with all the stakeholders.
