The Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) General Secretary Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh has demanded of Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah to tender his resignation keeping in view the highly volatile law and order situation in the province, especially in Karachi.
He said the government had completely failed to control incidents of target killings, bhatta mafia and kidnapping for ransom which was an ample proof of their inefficiency. He said this while addressing a press conference on Monday at Raja House when Mir Raja Khan Jakhrani announced to join PML-F.
He said those who were thinking to divide Sindh should not consider Sindh as a cake which could be easily divided into many pieces. He further said that voters list of Karachi should be prepared in accordance to the order of the Supreme Court (SC), adding that not inducting the army in the process of voters list verification was the inefficiency of the Election Commission.
The PML-F general secretary welcomed Jakhrani into the PML-F and said it was a good omen. He also paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Quetta tragedy. He said the PML-F in principle agreed with the vision of Dr Tahirul Qadri and his long march and supported the idea. He said the party would never accept any kind of delay in general elections. Furthermore, Imtiaz said it was the inefficiency of the Election Commission for not compiling voters list under the orders of the SC. He said the PML-F had decided in principle to oppose the SPLGA 2012 which was a design to divide Sindh.
Moreover, Imtiaz said the PML-F had come out as an alternate political force in Sindh and would serve the people without any discrimination. He also said the PML-F was being reorganised and very soon a president belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be brought in. Replying to a query, he said no writ of the government could be seen in Sindh and the Sindh CM should quit office immediately and accept his failure.
