Indian Army Chief Bikram Singh ordered his commanders an ‘aggressive response to any unprovoked firing by Pakistani forces along the border while talking to reporters ahead of the meeting, Indian media reported.
He blamed that Jan 8 attack was pre-planned and that an op like that required extensive planning and detailed reconnaissance.
Pakistan and Indian army local commanders are scheduled to hold talks on defusing tensions on the Line of Control (LoC) after a series of ceasefire violations that killed several soldiers last week in the worst outbreak of violence in a decade, Indian media quoted military officials as saying.
According to the sources, Indian military officials, Colonel Rajesh Kalia, a spokesman for the Indian Army’s Northern Command and another Indian Army spokesman Colonel Jagdeep Dahiya confirmed the meeting in Mendhar at 1 pm.
Skirmishes are common along the 740-km LoC despite a ceasefire that was agreed in 2003.
Last Sunday, a Pakistani soldier was killed in what Islamabad said was a cross-border raid mounted by the Indians. The Indian army denied any of its troops breached the control line, but said there had been an exchange of fire.

  1. Dear John;
    When Pakistan ask for fair investigation by UN indian army skip from this question. See how they act cowardly.

  2. Pakistan should also aggressive response if India ceasefire violations.This how Indian dual face.First ceasefire violated by Indians and now blame Pakistan also denies for not killing Pakistani troops.Indian should remember Pakistan is nuclear country not like past history.Indian madness is too dangerous for regional peace.
    @John your media is controlled by raw and cia.

  3. The tension on the LOC is an attempt by the Indian authorities to divert our attention from the unstable internal situation of Baluchistan and Karachi. They do not want us to take control of the internal situation so that we do not have the proper focus on external threat.. We need cool heads above the shoulders on both sides for peace and prosperity.

  4. Let us take in the facts around LOC.
    Skirmishes happen, soldiers get killed, and they die in honour… There is no denying that.
    Why I feel anger, is because of the mutilation that was done to a fallen soldier…. Whether a soldier belongs to pakistan or India, he fought and died for what he believed in, he died for his country, he died for duty.
    And he must be honoured and the fallen body must be respected.
